Yesterday in science we learnt about the big bang theory. The big bang was an explosion about 13.8 billion years ago that created the universe. The idea came from a Belgian physicist and a Catholic priest named Georges Lemaître. Once matter started to clump together, gravity took over. Over millions and billions of years, huge clouds of hydrogen and helium gas were pulled together by gravity to form the first stars and galaxies. Inside these stars, heavier elements like carbon and oxygen were forged. When those giant stars exploded in supernovas, they scattered these new, heavier elements throughout space. Eventually, these heavier elements came together to form our Solar System 4.603 billion years ago our Sun, our Earth, and all the other planets. the first proof that the universe was still expanding was from Edwin Hubble he found out that the universe was moving away from us using the Hubble space telescope named after him that in a useflul tool that we still use today.

Yesterday at tech we had to make a school yard but we could add anything we wanted. Me and my buddy started by making a library with a secret gaming room behind a painting then I made a football field. we had a pool with a diving board and next to that we had a trampoline and a movie theatre. we added a roller coaster around the island so you can see everything.

On monday we had passion projects. Me and Faolan were going to make a song on bandlab but it got blocked so instead we went on chrome music lab. There were a lot of different ways to make a song there and we chose to make it on piano roll so we could sing and it would turn into a beat.
On tuesday we just had a normal day and it was the same on wednesday I finished the slideshow that me, Faolan and Zavier were making to show how celebrations have changed overtime and we had dodgeball.
On Thursday we went to tech im in digitech which is really fun because we’ve been making our own game. In my game you’re a robber and you have to break into the bank and steal the diamond without falling to the ground.
Today is Friday and normally on friday I play football for winter sport but this week it has been raining a lot so the grounds are too wet to play on so it got canceled. So far for winter sports my team has won 1 game, had 1 draw and 2 losses.
On wednesday and thursday I used success and resilience and integrity because I finally finished the game that I was working on at tech but I used resilience because it was really hard to make the code for it but I figured out how to do it and I finished my inquiry.
Weekly reflection W4
This week I went to zones for cross country. we left school at about 12:00 to go to Queens Park witch was were it was held. I spent most of the day watching other races and cheering people on until it was my race. just before my race started we did some warm ups then lined up in the order that we finished in in our school cross country. when the race started I was around the middle but in the 2nd lap I was falling behind. In the end I came about 10th to last then I got to go home early. I used resilience and succsess because it was really hard but I did it anyway
At tech I’m in digitech and this week I made a parkour game were you have to jump over a lot of platforms to get to the end and grab the key to escape. after I made it I thought that it was to hard so I made it a little bit easier by slowing things down and making them easier to see. but if you fall of the platform you have to restart the game. I succsess because the game was hard to make but I finished it.
Maths Blog
This year we have been using Oxford maths and we have had our own books with different questions in it for us to learn and answer them.
So far we have learnt about whole numbers, converting decimals to fractions to percentages, factors and HCF, prime numbers and prime factorisation, surveys and data sources and polygons and circles.
How it works:
We do a pretest then we learn more about whatever topic the test was about and then we do a post test to see how much we have learned from when we did the pre test and when we did the post test.
I like how all of the tests are set up and how it shows us what percentage of the test we got right. But I find that a lot of the questions in the book are quite hard but some of them I find easy.
Colour block Landscape
Today we were making our own colour block landscapes with Google draw. I made my one by getting a photo on Google then used Polly line to to make the m0untains and other shapes that I couldn’t find on Google draw. It was harder at the start but after I started it was pretty easy.
Week 10
This week was good because I went surfing today at Sumner. I havn’t been surfing since last year so it was good to go again. When we got there we had to walk down a bit because the waves were to dangerous. We couldn’t stay for to long because the waves were to rough and it was coming into high tide and the water was smashing into the rocks.
Yesterday at tech I sewed my handles to my bag and it should be done by next week. I just need to sew a few more lines to sew my inner to my outer and it will be done. My bag has a whale on one side and it says keep the sea plastic free then on the other side it has a dolphin. On the inside its just red and its got green handles that need to get sewed on next week. The rise value that I used was reselience because even when I kept falling of my surf board but I still kept trying.
Week 9
This week at school I went swimming for choice and challenge with the juniors. It was fun but sadly today is the last day that the pool is open. Yesterday I went to tech, I’m in sewing and I’m making a bag that has a whale on one side that says keep the sea plastic free and on the other side it has dolphins. I think that I might be able to finish it next week but I still have to sew the inside of it witch is bright red and attach the handles on in I’m going to make the handle green or maybe black.
Yesterday we had crt as well I was with Matt so I got to play a game where there was a team of cats and a team of mice. The team of cats would be in a line all facing different ways and only one cat could move at a time but could tag another cat on the back and they would swap out. The mice would be in a line and only one would run at a time and they could run through the line of cats but the cat had to go around and when all the mice get caught the teams swap over.
The rise value I used was resilience because when I kept losing in the game I didn’t give up.
Leadership
Last week we played robot dodgeball when someone is the robot that is blindfolded and has to play dodgeball by getting instructions from the controller but the controller couldn’t see the game so the visualiser had to tell the controller what to say but the visualiser couldn’t talk so they had to do actions then the assistant had to count the score so whenever you hit someoneyou would get a point but if you walked into someone you lose a point. you can only throw the ball by bending your arm and throwing the ball so you cant get power.
